ELA-3 · Kourou · 2004

Launcher: Ariane 5 G+. Mission: Rosetta.

Ariane Launch Area 3, at the Guiana Space Centre near Kourou, was the pad of Ariane 5. The rocket was assembled in a building 2.8 km away and rolled to the pad on its launch table.

Rosetta left from here in March 2004, and the James Webb Space Telescope at Christmas 2021. The pad has stood idle since Ariane 5's last flight in July 2023: Ariane 6 flies from a new pad, ELA-4.
