LC-39A · Kennedy Space Center · 2024
Launcher: Falcon Heavy. Mission: Europa Clipper.
Launch Complex 39A was built on Merritt Island in the 1960s for the Saturn V. Apollo 11 left from here for the Moon in July 1969, as did most of the Apollo crews after it.
Rebuilt for the Space Shuttle, it saw 82 of its 135 flights between 1981 and 2011. SpaceX has leased it since 2014: Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy and crewed Dragon flights leave from its new tower.
