Log On Globe ("the app", "we") is a real-time interactive 3D globe. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It applies to logonglobe.com and is written to reflect what the app actually does today. It will be updated as features such as accounts or payments are introduced.
Who is responsible for your data
Log On Globe is operated by ATOOM (EURL, registered office at 75 avenue Simon Bolivar, 75019 Paris, France), the data controller. For any privacy-related question or request, reach us through the contact form on this site.
What data we collect
The app does not require an account and does not collect names, email addresses, or payment details. The only data stored on your device today is a "locale" cookie, which remembers whether you prefer the app in English or French. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
The place search feature
When you type in the place search bar, your query is sent directly from your browser to Komoot's Photon geocoding service to look up matching locations. This request is not proxied through our servers, so it is subject to Komoot's own privacy practices. We do not store your search history ourselves.
Other third-party services we use
To resolve time zones for a place you select, your browser sends its coordinates to our own server, which computes the time zone locally without contacting any third party. To show background information about certain events, our server fetches public article summaries from Wikipedia. To track the International Space Station, our server fetches public orbital data from CelesTrak. None of these requests include personal information about you beyond, where applicable, the coordinates or search terms you chose to enter. Your account information and the app's data are stored in a database hosted by Supabase, Inc. on infrastructure located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
Cookies
The "locale" cookie described above is strictly necessary for the app to remember your language preference and is exempt from consent requirements under GDPR/ePrivacy rules, since it does not track you across sites or sessions for any other purpose. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used; its cookies ("_ga", "_ga_*") are only set after you explicitly accept them in the cookie banner, never before. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the "Manage cookies" link in the footer.
Data retention
The locale cookie is kept on your device until it expires or you clear your browser data; we do not keep a server-side copy of it. We do not currently retain any other personal data.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export any personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Since the app currently stores only a functional cookie on your own device, most of these rights are exercised simply by clearing your browser cookies. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves, in particular when features such as user accounts or paid plans are introduced. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
