These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Log On Globe ("the app"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The service
Log On Globe is an informational and educational visualization tool that renders an interactive 3D globe with real-time day/night boundaries, astronomical events, and satellite tracking data. It is provided for general interest purposes only.
No account, no payment (for now)
The app is currently free to use and does not require creating an account. If account creation or paid features are introduced in the future, these Terms will be updated and you will be asked to accept the new version where required by law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the app, for example by attempting to disrupt its infrastructure, scraping or automating requests against it at a volume that degrades service for other users, or attempting to circumvent any technical limitation put in place.
Accuracy of data: not for safety-critical use
Astronomical events, satellite positions, and time-zone data are computed from public data sources and simplified astronomical models for illustrative purposes. They are not guaranteed to be precise or up to date and must not be relied upon for navigation, scheduling of safety-critical activities, or any professional or scientific use.
Intellectual property
The app's code, design, and branding belong to ATOOM, which operates Log On Globe, unless stated otherwise. Any reuse or reproduction of the site's own content, even partial, must credit the source: Log On Globe (logonglobe.com); reuse without that credit is not authorized. Location data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors via Komoot's Photon service; event summaries are provided by Wikipedia under its applicable license; orbital data is provided by CelesTrak; 3D models are provided by their respective authors under the licenses listed in the Credits. Each of these sources retains its own rights over its data.
Disclaimer of warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Log On Globe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
Changes to the service and these terms
We may change or discontinue parts of the app, and may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.
